I was entrusted with designing and sealing the final visual identity for Bill Ward — the founding drummer of Black Sabbath — for the Back to the Beginning farewell performance on July 5, 2025, in Birmingham, England. This was the closing of a myth. A ritual. A final tribute.
I crafted the Commemorative Drumheads, Drumsticks and Sigil as sacred objects — Wood-etched relics bearing Bill Ward’s signature and the Henry icon insignias. Approved for production on May 20, 2025, they served as both artifact and seal — a permanent mark of legacy.
The hardware and microphone system were integrated with equal precision. Overheads, tom mics, and shell placements were considered not only for fidelity but for silhouette — preserving clean sightlines without compromising the thunderous resonance Bill Ward is known for.
Finally, the kit was archived and entombed with reverence. Each element — shells, drumheads, sigils, hardware — was designed as a vessel of memory, preserved in custom cases and location, marking the end of Sabbath’s thunder on earth.
Deliverables: Ritual Design, Stage Visuals, Custom Drumheads, Drumsticks, Sigil, Kit Renderings, Inner Circle—Travel Credentials.
